Pivot Table - Method

1. In this section, you will see, step by step, how to create a pivot table. First you select the menu Data/Pivot Table

2. Then you select the option 'List or database Excel' to specify that you data comes from a worksheet. Indeed, you can make a pivot table with external data, but you should see this part on your own

3. Select the range of cells of your array and click on 'Next'. You MUST select the titles of the columns.

4. Say if you want to display the result in a new worksheet or in an existing worksheet
|

5. A new sheet appears with the structure of the pivot table and with a dialog box with the title of all the columns
|

|

6. Automatically, the following result is displayed. Make a note that the word Sum of Total is displayed on the cell A3.

8. A double-clic on this button display the following dialog box.

9. If you select 'Average', the pivot table display the average of the product. The cell A3 is now 'Average of Total'.
